After meeting my Slovenian family we had one more day to spend in Ljubljana. This should have been our day looking for our Simonic family. Sigh.

The Ljubljanica River was just beautiful and had a very nice pedestrian area nearby.

I love farmers markets and Ljubljana has a huge one every day!

The bread looked like the kind that we used to buy at the bakeries in Steelton!

This woman is buying a liter of fresh raw milk from this vending machine for one Euro per liter!

The dragon has been the symbol of Ljubljana for centuries and you can buy dragon candy in Ljubljana along with dragon toys, dragon dishes, dragon kites or dragon shirts. You name it, they have it. This is the Dragon Bridge.

I wonder what they sell here!?

Of course there’s a castle overlooking the city, with great views of the city and mountains beyond the city.

Visiting Ljubljana was fun, but we had to move on. We took the train to Vienna and we had entertainment this time! A group of young people who had a little too much to drink shared the train car with us. I wish I could upload the video I took of them asking Bob if he wanted to try their Slovenski liquor. He turned them down and they danced back up the aisle to join their friends. They were loud, but friendly and when they left they said good bye and wished us a good trip.

We passed by more castles on the way to Vienna.

Back in Vienna we bought some Mozart Balls to take home with our Dragon Balls. Both were chocolate filled with something. Bob and his sweet tooth liked them a lot!

We went through the dish room in the Hofburg Imperial Apartments. Rooms filled with dishes and more dishes! Some were beautiful, some not so much.

We had schnitzel at our favorite restaurant again. This picture is for Al! My dinner is on the right - venison sausage. Delish!

ree

The menu was interesting. Remember, we only speak English. Fortunately, there was a very nice Austrian couple sitting nearby who helped us and their choices made us very happy!

We definitely enjoyed our vacation in Austria and Slovenia. Meeting my Slovenian family made it extra special and something we’ll never forget.

Now it’s Bob’s turn to choose where our next vacation will be. He has some good ideas! Hopefully I’ll post here again later this year.
